It’s Day 10 – Write about something which I feel strongly. A little bit confused at first, but after reading the blog I’ve been referring for this challenge, I get the sense it’s about a lesson I always believed in.
If there’s something I constantly learn aside that the world is round (sometimes you’re on top of the world, other times you’re on the opposite) and you’ll get what you give, is that you are always what you think you are.
If you think you aren’t too good at something, then you won’t. If you think you can do anything if you try, then you will. So basically, you are either limiting yourself or you give yourself an opportunity and will to try.
Well, sometimes if you’re old enough or if you know yourself, you know the path you will go through and sure with your decision. It’s a big loss if you found yourself already say you can’t but it’s just something you never do (it’s like one of the quotes in Day 9; “It’s always seems impossible until it’s done.”)
It’s actually a similar meaning to the famous quote in the movie Black Swan (2010) : “The only person standing in your way is you.” It’s not about how far the trip or the process you must go through to something you want, it’s not your parents, it’s not your tools or the right circle of friends. Sometimes by giving too many excuses, you forgot that you’re the one that thinks it’s an obstacle. Other people who wants it bad and go for it thinks it’s just something you must go through. But you should know and read the signs as well, otherwise it’s just seems you’re desperate or pushing too hard.
If you haven’t, maybe you should watch Yes Man, leading character played by Jim Carrey with Zooey Deschanel. It’s a story about a man who refuse to try anything new. When he got some sorts of spell on him that he can always say yes, he found himself having a colorful life.
I’m not saying that I am always open to anything new, but it’s good that you know yourself but still try before you judge yourself about something. It is the basic of thinking positive as well.
I hope at least this writing can open up some closeted minds. Almost midnight here. I’m always welcome to positive comments 🙂
